Job Description

Hunt Forest Products is seeking a Traffic Coordinator with experience in the wood products industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of lumber, plywood, and other specialty wood products from our manufacturing facilities to customers. This position supports operations by managing logistics, coordinating shipments, and maintaining compliance with transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support our manufacturing facilities and customers by shipping products as efficiently, cost effectively, and as timely as possible
• Analyze and optimize the company's logistics processes
• Ensure shipping methods comply with local, state, federal, and international regulations
• Negotiate rates with carriers
• Regularly communicate with customers to understand their supply needs
• Coordinate allocation of product for inventory to keep warehouse capacity at optimal levels
• Coordinate shipments for delivery to maximize efficiency and profitability
• Promptly resolve shipment and inventory issues as they arise
• Process freight claims and billing
• Manage orders and coordinate stock of materials and equipment to ensure all needs are satisfied

Education and/or Experience

• BS/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field
• 1-2 years of experience in a logistics support role
• Passion for safety initiatives and exceptional safety record
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if needed
• Travel when necessary including some overnight travel (typically less than a week per year)

Skills

• Self-motivated and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
• Proven experience as a traffic coordinator
• Customer Service will be appreciated
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Negotiation abilities
• Experienced with office and logistics software (ERP)
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in teams
