Description

The Services Librarian & Cataloger provides library services including cataloging reference circulation and computer assistance. The purpose of this position is to provide library services for patrons

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Cataloging books purchased for the college and prep school. This includes books for the Annex Reading Room. Provides statistical data on circulation.
• Manages interlibrary loan services for GMC students faculty and staff at all campuses. Provides statistical data.
• Presentations on orientation and information literacy to JC classes in coordination with the Reference & Instruction Librarian. Provides research assistance with GMC Online students in coordination with the Online Instruction Librarian
• Assists with front desk circulation duties; special projects such as preparing book orders; collection inventories; collection development.
• Manages the ordering and receiving of office materials. Manages weekly cash drawer deposits.
• Creates seasonal and other theme-based displays highlighting library books and other resources.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited college.

Preferred: Masters degree in Library Science with a concentration in cataloging and/or reference.

Experience

Required: 1 year of relevant experience

Preferred: two years Academic library experience
